Los Vientos

Zach has been playing trombone since he chose it as his primary instrument back in intermediate school and played all through college. After a brief hiatus he began playing again with a renewed passion with jazz, Latin, and funk groups at Jazz Night School in Hillman City. This ultimately led him to Yambambo, where he has been enjoying growing as a musician and learning from both his fellow bandmates and those that came before him.

Erik has been playing trumpet in Seattle since the mid 90’s when he moved to the area to study music at UW. He immediately fell in love with the local music scene, performing and studying with several of the musical greats of the region. As well as stints with blues and punk bands, Esvelt became involved with the jazz scene, performing extensively with saxophonist Gary Hammon. Previous projects include studio sessions with alternative rock and jazz big bands and an album by the Hammon Esvelt Quintet titled Slightly In the Tradition, released in 2011.
